However, when I went into my steamapps folder I saw the full 14gb Sims4 folder still there, even though steam no longer showed it installed in my steam library, so I deleted that folder as well. I uninstalled every instance of Sims 4 on origin, which ran the uninstall through steam as well.

I uninstalled it on Steam and "installed" it through Origin, forcing it to install on Steam and now it works for me. I also just made this post to see if others where having similar problems and had any potential solutions, but thank you for your insightful, relevant feedback. That would still not let you buy dlc, so that misses the point too. When you say add it from origin to steam, there is no way to get the game on steam straight from your origin account, unless you mean just adding a non-steam game to your steam library. If this is new release on steam, then what works in theory dose not always makes cents.Īs my first sentence said, I added it on steam to be able to buy DLC while its discounted on steam. You should of added it from origin account to your steam library than the other way around.
